Sapphire Point Engagement Photos in Dillon, Colorado

I haven’t blogged an engagement session in a few weeks, and I couldn’t resist sharing this one because it makes my heart sing like I’m on a mountaintop in the Swiss Alps. Katlin and Christian chose Sapphire Point for their engagement session because of the absolutely stunning views, and the amazing combination of mountains + water. I am so so glad that I work in Colorado where these views are commonplace and just a short car ride can get me to some of the most beautiful places in the world. 

I met Katlin and Christian at a bridal show, and remembered chatting to them, then turning to my husband and just saying I HAVE to work with these two. They were fun, charming, and one of the first things we talked about was their 120 pound rottweiler, Nova (don’t worry, you’ll see photos when you scroll down). They’re talking about having their 2019 wedding at Wynkoop downtown. They want chill vibes and don’t want it to be too fussy. I love how many of my couples are considering breweries and other off beat venues to keep their weddings more relaxed, and not buying into the bells and whistles that the traditional venues push on you.

When I pulled into the parking lot at Sapphire Point, I saw Katlin + Christian standing nearby with a HORSE. It’s funny, you talk about a dog that’s 120 pounds but you don’t really understand how giant that is until you’re standing next to it. Nova’s shoulders were pretty much level with my hips, and he LOVES to lean on you for pets. He came over to me while I was sitting on the ground to get a different angle on some photos, and sat in my lap. He looked back over his shoulder at me like “hooman, why you no pets?” I’m not his only admirer, either. Every group of people we saw stopped to ask all about him and say “hi.” He’s quite the charmer! According to Christian, they get stopped all the time when they walk him.
