Colorado LGBTQ+ Wedding Photographer

Wedding photos for everyone, no matter who you love

You deserve wedding photos that embrace your whole self.

They should scream YOU from the rooftops, celebrate how awesome your love is, and not just copy what’s trending. Because you dance to the beat of your own drum, and your wedding might not play by the rules.

You deserve to work with vendors who aren’t just “okay” with your love, but as excited about celebrating it as you are.

That’s what I’m here for.

Yes! That’s what I want.

if you’re thinking… what do I do with my hands?

We all do the second we feel a camera pointed at us. Me included!! But, I’ll take you from deer-in-headlights panic to enjoying every moment of your wedding. Really.

I know you think you’re the exception. Everyone in my photos said they were going to be more awkward than anyone else I’ve photographed. They weren’t, and you’re not either.

because love looks good on you, too.

Let me show you!

I highly highly recommend working with Kate for your wedding, *especially* if you are an LGBTQ+ couple! No stodgy heteronormative posing or uncomfortable “who is the guy” awkwardness. Kate got it and our photos turned out beautifully as a result.

I’M Kate

she/they

I’m a Colorado wedding photographer…And yup, I’m bi (but usually just use “queer”)! The wedding industry is horrifically lacking on inclusivity, and I’m here to fix that. All types of relationships deserve to be celebrated with a wedding that knocks your socks off! So, let’s make that happen together!!

I once had a couple tell me they wanted a photographer who wasn’t just “okay with photographing a gay couple” but “as excited as they were about their love.” That statement gutted me, and has stuck with me as I’ve built my business, reminding me why I love what I do.

As a bisexual woman in a straight-passing relationship, I felt isolated because of my sexuality for a long time. I wasn’t straight, but a lot of the queer community didn’t welcome me either. That journey has made me realize how incredibly important inclusivity is, no matter what your love looks like.

Budget Blown?

Let’s talk about it

Real Talk: I know that weddings can be expensive! Some couples I work with have people around them celebrating their love and providing financial support, while others are getting married surrounded by their chosen families…and with more limited financial means. If you think I sound like a great fit but have budget concerns, you can complete a brief application for consideration for our sliding scale rates. Email me here, and share as much as you are comfortable with about your life and love.

* Availability of sliding scale rates is not guaranteed. Preference is given to couples who lack family support and who have a limited budget. I have a very small number of weddings I can do at these rates per year, so please prioritize these spots for folks who really need them *

my process

So what’s next?

I get your email.

Tell me about all your wedding dreams, then I make them come true. Ask me all your questions.

We make it official.

Want me to photograph your wedding? Rad! All the logistics can be taken care of online. Let me know you’re ready, an email finalizes the rest.

We get organized.

You’ll fill out a pre-wedding info form that gets me everything I need to rock your wedding day. A phone call confirms we’re all on the same page.

You get MARRIED!!!

I show up early, get to know all your favorite people, then get into the photo zone and make magic. One month later, photos land in your inbox!

see if I have your date available!
