Moab Adventure Engagement Session in Canyonlands

The first time I met Val and Larry was at a bridal show on Larimer Street in Denver. We instantly hit it off and started chatting about their wedding. We were going through one of my engagement session albums together, and they looked at each other, then at me and asked “will you go to Moab with us for our engagement session?” I squealed “OF COURSE.” We started talking about the magical little town sunk into the desert rock.

Moab holds a special place in my heart as it was one of my husband and I’s first road trip destinations when we were still just babies dating in college. We would drive miles down Kane Creek looking for campgrounds and hiked through all of Arches and much of Canyonlands! For years we have gone back once a year if we can, sometimes on our drive down to Las Vegas or on our way out to California! Road trips are our jam.

We did Val + Larry’s session in the Needles District on a trail out off Elephant Hill. It’s one of Larry’s favorite hikes, and has some of his favorite views. As soon as we started talking about location, this is where his mind was, imagining all the spots we could pull off and make some magic.

I’m obsessed with how these turned out, and can’t wait to go back and get some red dirt on my hiking boots and caked in the wheel wells of my Subaru again.
