Loveland Pass Engagement Photos in Colorado

Picking Loveland Pass for an engagement session in January is like playing the lottery… it’s either going to be sunny and fifty degrees, or it’s going to be blizzarding and freezing. Well, we got the latter but, let me tell you, I am so glad Jess and Alex stuck it out with me and froze their butts off for these photos!

Their Loveland Pass engagement session was cold and windy, but I will officially go up there no matter the weather from here on out! So worth it. I love the look of the raw high alpine peaks and surprisingly, these views are only a tiny walk away from the parking lot. But, We were definitely huffing and puffing as we were walking around. The wind and the altitude meant that oxygen was sparse! 12,000 feet is not for the faint of heart, haha. The beauty however, is for everyone.

These two lovelies are tying the knot this summer at one of my favorite Lyons wedding venues: Planet Bluegrass! It’s been a few years and I am well due for another visit. They are super laid back, fun, and appreciative of all things genuine and authentic (are you surprised we get along? haha). Their interaction with each other is so easy and natural. When we were talking about their wedding, Alex was super passionate about making sure everything is fun for their guests, and also keeping it true to their vibes. Without family and friends involved, they said they would have had something very small and simple on a mountainside. But, since it has grown into a bigger wedding, they want to do it right!! I also get to work with one of my favorite planners ever, Brindle + Oak, for their big day. I recommend Michelle a ton because she takes amazing care of my couples… and I know that first hand since she was the coordinator for my wedding! They’re not going all out on decor or the little things, but hired live band to dance the night away! I can’t wait to work with these guys again and see how their wedding comes together.
