Denver County Courthouse Wedding
When I first met Marie and James at a cute little coffee shop in Denver, I immediately fell in love with the vision they had for the photos of their wedding day. James had obviously spent hours combing through my website, because he mentioned some specifics that were super important to them about the way I worked. Because of their amazing blended family, they wanted to make sure I would be okay rolling with the punches of a kid friendly timeline, and would have fun with them so we could get some really candid photos of the three of the kids together. He didn’t want me getting frustrated after trying to get them all to stand in a line and smile at the camera. We got a few of those for good measure, but with tons of candids and natural moments peppered in between. I loved that those were their priorities, and that James also really loved some of my more “artsy” moments 😉
We started off meeting on the front steps of the Denver County Courthouse building. We went into their courtroom and met their (very cool) officiant, who did their quick little ceremony. It just killed me how cute the two girls were during the ceremony. And, having them all sign the marriage almost brought tears to my eyes! Gah!!
After their ceremony ended, we walked the block around the County Courthouse, stopping at Civic Center Park, and the Lindsay-Flanigan Courthouse, too. Marie and James had originally loved the more modern feel of that building, but the judge was more important to them, knowing that we could just walk over to the courtyard of Lindsay-Flanigan. I love the modern flower statue out front, and the lines of the building and benches are so cool. Oh, and I almost forgot. Marie ran into some friends from work while we were walking between locations. It was so fun to see how happy they were for them, and they got a little bit of celebration and fuss made over them on their wedding day!
Can we talk about how on point all the outfits are for a second?? I was so in love with Marie’s dress!! Just the right level of casual, gorgeous, and still elegant enough for their wedding. The girls’ flower girl dresses were straight up darling!!
I hope these photos take you on the little journey that was Marie + James’ Denver Courthouse wedding, and show you just how special this itty bitty weddings can be! From mud getting in shoes causing tantrums, to running and playing in Civic Center Park, to emotional moments while they said their vows, every moment of it was perfect. Check out the photos and let me know what you think!
