Denver LGBTQ+ Engagement Photos at Finn’s Manor
This engagement session is my best-of-both worlds engagement session, and I am so glad that it was important to Mike and Jake to get some fun city vibes in Denver as well as some of Colorado’s gorgeous mountain views. I am totally a city girl at heart, but escaping to the mountains on the weekends is something I would never want to give up. It kind of makes Colorado the best place to live and work!
Denver has some amazing city vibes, and some incredible locations for engagement photos. We started off this session at Finn’s Manor in RiNo. It has this amazing rainbow painted corrugated iron wall that caught Mike and Jake’s eye in another session I had done. They just HAD to have it in their engagement photos. I love the other elements of this little tavern like the run down truck, different architectural elements, and cute overhead lighting. It’s so fun, and has a ton of variety and room for creativity in compositions. If you’ve seen my engagement photos before, you know that those creative shots are always something I’m looking for. While I love my Colorado mountains, it’s easy to create a beautiful photo with a backdrop like that. Working in Denver in a city environment pushes me to look for something different and a new way of looking at the scene.
After we wrapped up our engagement photos in Denver, we took the shortest route to get to views we could find, and that meant hitting US-6 out to Golden, and Lookout Mountain. I am obsessed with the view up the Clear Creek Canyon that you get from this spot at Lookout Mountain. It’s a dizzying view and when the light hits it just right, the layers in the valley walls are just magical.
Mike and Jake’s love was just beautiful to witness. They are so soft, loving, and gently affectionate with each other. You can tell just from seeing the way they look into each other’s eye how powerful their relationship is. It was such an honor to see it, even if they were a little hesitant to let the walls down at first, and it’s so humbling that I get to experience relationships like this for my job!! Thanks you two, for trusting me, and having me there with you—and following me up a twisty mountain road to get to my favorite view.
