Wedgewood Tapestry House Wedding Photos
Some of the most beautiful, emotional, and heartfelt moments that I have ever had the honor of photographing happened at this wedding. Sam + Aaron have an absolutely incredible ability to be in the moment and be present with one another. It meant their photos were honest, real, and authentic in the best way. It was amazing to be there with them all day! Looking back on their kindness when I was putting these images together still tugs at my heartstrings, and inspires me to act more on that myself. I was still hobbling around on my broken ankle around the Wedgewood Tapestry House, and the last thing Sam said to me was to make sure I iced and elevated my foot when I got home, and to take Aleve not Advil so I didn’t get ulcers! Her heart is so full of goodness and the love of caring for others that even on her wedding day high, she was making sure I took care of myself too.
We kicked off the day, as usual, grabbing some detail photos and shots of the Wedgewood Tapestry House before anyone else arrived. I just adore this old victorian house. When Scotty (my husband) and I were house hunting, we bid on this darling victorian in downtown Lafayette. I still wish to this day that we had gotten that house and I could have lived amongst the crown moulding and little archways.
Sam had some gorgeous moments getting ready with her closest friends and her family. Her “first look” with her dad was so so sweet, and was the first time (definitely not the last) that all of us were crying!! Me included 🙂
Aaaaaaahhhh, this first look was so perfect!!! I couldn’t resist using this stunning staircase in the Tapestry House to give Sam + Aaron a little intimate moment to themselves. Tears were shed, belly laughs were had, then we tucked them away to get ready for their ceremony!
This. This right here is my favorite moment of their wedding day. They were SO excited, overjoyed, and overwhelmed that they were actually married that they couldn’t even get all the way down the aisle before grabbing each other, screaming, crying, and laughing!!! I think this is one of my favorite photos of all time.
Wedding party photos are so much more than a posed, painfully smiling, photo that we have to take. It’s the chance to get some photos with the people you love most and celebrate with them!! All these delicious candid photos came from giving some loose directions, then shooting through the moment to capture all that happened next. I just adore them. The people that they chose to have alongside them were absolutely the best, and 100% there to support and love on them all day.
Twinkly lights, the gorgeous Tapestry House, and tulips…what could be better!!! These twilight photos make me so happy.
So, before the couple gets announced, they normally go into the main Tapestry House building while the guests all gather in the tent to welcome the wedding party. But, there was a snag in the plans on this one. It started POURING with rain just as we were getting ready for them to come in. Like, one of those massive Colorado monsoon storms that dumps down 6 inches of water in a matter of minutes. They ran through the rain with umbrellas to come in with a bang.
I’m so happy that these photos can help Sam + Aaron look back on all the happy moments during their wedding!! If you want a photographer who is there for the real, the emotional, the raw moments and you liked this set, hit me up! I’m here for it!
