The Best Colorado VRBOs and Airbnbs for Weddings [Updated for 2022]

I get emails every week asking me where Kate + Nick got married and how they can find an Airbnb or VRBO that can host a wedding like there’s. I share the link for that VRBO a lot, so it got me thinking that there must be other awesome Colorado Airbnbs and VRBOs for weddings in Denver, or up in the mountains. Turns out, there are some great options out there if you’re looking for a low-budget way to have an intimate wedding in Colorado.

I’ve done some of the leg work for you, and gone through the endless Colorado Airbnb and VRBO listings to find ones that fit the bill as small wedding venues. All of the listings below check these boxes:

• Allow events
• Sleep 6+
• Are pretty, trendy, have great views, and/or are aesthetically pleasing
• A large outdoor area that could work as a “ceremony site” -or- have enough space inside for a small ceremony and a group of 10 or so to eat.
• A large enough indoor and/or outdoor space that people could mingle, dance, eat, etc.

There are some pretty rad reasons to get married somewhere that is not technically a wedding venue, like an Airbnb. First, you can make it what you want, and usually don’t have to follow as many rules; bring your own alcohol, use whatever catering/food trucks/delivery pizza you want, string up some twinkle lights and have a ball. You might have to be willing to coordinate the details a little more than a traditional wedding venue, but the savings can be huge! While I’ve listed Colorado VRBO’s and Airbnb’s for weddings that say they are willing to host events, always double check with the owner and let them know what you’re doing beforehand. No one likes getting their property trashed, and going about it responsibly will make sure there are other VRBO and Airbnb wedding venue properties for folks who get married after you do. Airbnb has threatened many times to revoke all “partying” at their properties, and during COVID they have a 10 guest rule. Basically, don’t ruin it for everyone else by taking advantage of the system, because in this case, the system is pretty awesome for providing us with gorgeous houses to use as custom wedding venues!
