Best Photo Spots at Realm Denver

The whole space, I literally walk in and drool!! There’s a reason this space is also rented routinely as a photo studio, you truly can’t go wrong. I love the plant wall in the front lobby, the lounge setup by the front garage door, and the studio area in the main room! In the early afternoon when the light moves around the room you’ll see why the space truly stands out. The character walls, plants, and curated furniture are perfect for moodier photos with directional light!

If you want more variety, or to get away while the space gets flipped for your reception, head off-site to City Park (only a few minutes away) or wander the rest of the York Street Yards during golden-hour.

Photographer Tip: The light here is strong but beautiful. Instead of fighting it, watch how it moves through the space through the day and use it to frame your subjects — it’s your biggest asset.

Things to Know Before You Book

  • Relam is primarily an indoor event space, with the exception of the patio. But, trust me, you want everything to take place in the stunning interior.
  • For larger events with both ceremony and reception, expect a room flip during cocktail hour (usually held in the lobby).
  • Allows outside alcohol!!
  • Allows pets so you can have your furry family members join you for the ceremony
  • Preferred caterers (there are 7 on the list) are available for you to use for catering, and a fee applies for caterers not on the list. If you use their partner caterers, you aren’t responsible for cleanup — HUGE!! But food trucks are an option as well for more flexibility!
  • Dance parties encouraged!! Amplified music or live bands are totally allowed.
  • Offers 7-hour and 9-hour booking packages with a 7-day hold on your date after your tour!

From a Photographer’s Perspective

I love Realm’s central location and how easy it is to hop to iconic Denver spots for portraits. But honestly, you could shoot the entire day inside and never run out of light or angles. The tall windows, bright walls, and mix of modern and vintage furniture make it feel editorial yet inviting.

One of my favorite shots here is of Kale & Kodi framed by the soft window light through the venue’s towering fiddle leaf fig. Another was taken in the entryway — the moody shadows and mid-century chairs made it feel like a magazine spread.

If you’re a photographer new to Realm: don’t overcomplicate your lighting setup. The space was built for natural light lovers.
