Commons Park Engagement Photos in Denver
Melissa and Gabriel visited me from Oregon for their session, and sadly Colorado wasn’t very welcoming to them. Instead of our usual sunshine and 50 degree winter days, we got 11 degrees and clouds! But, you can see from their sweet smiles that it didn’t put a damper on their moods. These two had all the giggles, snuggles, and love for days!
We picked Commons Park for their engagement photos because it has so much to offer. Colorful walls in the Platte neighborhood nearby, views of the Denver city center, bridges, as well as a river and some grassy areas. I could photograph here hundreds of times and every session would look different. I love locations like that! There is so much variety down in Denver for engagement photos (as well as views of the Denver skyline AND the mountains at the same time, whaaaat). I think, more than anywhere else, it captures what truly makes Denver a special place to live.
I was so impressed with how immediately Melissa + Gabriel let the walls down and were willing to play at their session. I, of course, had my normal ice breakers, but from prompt one, they were raring to go! Believe it or not, the photos below with the turquoise wall were from the first 10 photos I took. Those are normally my test shots! Being willing to let go and just have fun with it makes my job of capturing your authentic selves so much easier right away. More and more, the people who come to me to be their wedding photographer are ready for it. That means more fun, more weirdness, and more chances to be creative for me! I’m so incredibly grateful for amazing souls like Melissa + Gabriel being willing to trust me with their wedding photos—and with capturing their relationship with honest and genuine photos.
Thanks for checking out the photos! Want to use a fun location like this for your engagement session? Hit me up! Want fun, honest, and authentic photos of you and your partner at your wedding? Amazing, let’s get you on the books.
