This wedding is amazing inspiration for anyone that thinks they need to check all the traditional boxes, but doesn’t want to. Kate and Nick’s turned this stunning mountain Airbnb home in to the venue for their intimate wedding and it couldn’t have been more perfect! I remember in one of our phone calls before the wedding, Kate had mentioned she was nervous about how the space would come together for the wedding. It couldn’t have turned out better! The inside was so cozy and warm–it made it feel like we were all snowed in together. The two feet of snow piled up outside was the only hurdle to having their ceremony outside, but apparently Nick spent the two days before stomping up and down their “aisle” with snowshoes on to pack down the snow! Genius!
Kate wanted a natural and vintage look for the decor and her dress. I think she totally nailed it!! Her shoes (which, don’t worry, didn’t get work in the snow) were these gorgeous silk slippers that she picked up from a vintage store. I loved the long lace sleeves on her open backed dress! Of course, the flower crown was absolutely to die for!
My favorite part of the wedding, though, was their amazing ringbearer Bernese Mountain dog!! Every time we went outside he just puddled down into the snow. Totally in heaven. He did an amazing job walking down the aisle, and even joined in the dancing (don’t worry, there’s photos). Kate said it would have been a dealbreaker for any venue if they didn’t allow dogs, so again, the Airbnb idea worked in their favor!! I’m telling you guys, this was so genius!!
The ceremony, toasts, and dances went off without a hitch, and I loved that I could use the balcony for some creative shots.
Another stroke of genius was Kate’s idea of wrapping all the trees and railings inside the buildings with string lights. Let me tell you, this is a photographers dream!! They are so magical, especially for some unique twilight shots. Take a peek at all these awesome moments, details and more below!!!
kate + nick’s intimate mountain airbnb wedding in Colorado
The owners took the property off Airbnb, but I just recently found the listing again on VRBO. Happy wedding planning!
Unfortunately this location now has “no events” in their listing as well as “no pets” so, sadly they are no longer a good option for a small wedding. However, I just did some digging on Airbnb and VRBO to find locations that are still awesome for a wedding…
