Unique Dinosaur Costume Photo Session

Looking for a way to make your engagement (or wedding) photos stand out from the herd? Well, I have a unique engagement session idea for you. Turns out, these dinosaur costumes are only about $35 on Amazon. I remember the first time I saw one of these images go viral—I assumed these costumes were $200+ and that no one I knew would ever invest in them just for a couple photos. Well, I was SO wrong and I have never been happier about it.

We tried our best to style this session like the late Cretaceous period so the environment would work well with the dinosaur costumes. These weird boulders are actually on my normal dog walking route near my house, and the first time I saw them I remember thinking “Those look weird. I bet there’s some way I could use them for a photo session.” That was years ago, and when we were planning this session, I thought FINALLY. This is my chance!! This is the kind of weird information that I store in my brain until someone goes “I want a session that looks like “X”. Maybe, all that stuff cluttering up my brain is why I can never remember to turn off the lights before I leave my house 😉

It was doubly cool that they were willing to climb up the boulder in the dinosaur costumes. In fact, they were total bad-asses and ran, climbed, walked, jumped, skipped, and bear-hugged in the dinosaurs! I was pleasantly surprised by how easy they are to move around it. Also, turns out, if the batteries die in the fan that keeps in inflated, just stand in the wind! Ha.

Imagine how fun it would be to send out a Save the Date photo with these goofy dinosaur costumes instead of just a normal smiling photo of you. That would be an invite that would get saved forever rather than just hung on the fridge for a few months, then thrown away.
